Daycare & Montessori

Daycare

Experience a day filled with excitement and learning for your dog with our enrichment based Daycare service.

Our canine guests engage in a variety of pack enrichment activities including:

  • agility challenges

  • bubble play

  • gate manners practice

  • positive-reinforcement basic obedience training exercises

Our experienced handlers also work on each dog’s individual skills such as recall, name recognition, and basic obedience commands such as “place”, “sit”, “down”, and more.

Under close supervision, dogs enjoy group play in their specially designated playrooms with their best friends and explore the great outdoors in our large, secure play yards. To ensure individualized attention and a harmonious environment, our packs are kept small, with no more than 15 dogs per handler.

Introducing:

Solo Care Montessori

You’ll notice the change!

Customized for dogs that excel in individual activities, Solo Care Montessori is comprised of one-on-one sessions with GDco's staff or Micro-groups. Our micro-groups are fun small play sessions featuring 2-5 perfectly matched dogs with two handlers.

Following enrichment and micro-group play sessions, dogs relax in private suites equipped with elevated Kuranda cots. Each day, they also enjoy a frozen Kong treat. One of the rest sessions includes interaction with a staff member in our lounge or flex space, while another provides dogs the opportunity to roam, romp, or relax in a spacious play area without our staff.

Daily Schedule

Consists of 6-7 outdoor potty breaks with 1:1 staff attention, ranging 5-15 minutes (weather dependent). 2-3 solo enrichment activities, combining physical and mental engagement.

Enrichment

Individual enrichments are one-on-one activities with a GDco staff member included in our Montessori packages and available as add-ons to Boarding services.

Individual enrichments may last for different durations depending on each dog's enjoyment of specific enrichment and/or their learning threshold.

  • Encourages dogs to utilize natural foraging behaviors, enhancing mental and physical well-being. Reduces negative behaviors, promotes positive reinforcement, and increases physical activity. Example activities: chews, Kongs of the Month, searching for treats in the Ball Pit, Snuffle Mats, and Puzzles.

  • Assigns dogs tasks for both physical and mental stimulation, addressing boredom-related destructive behaviors. Combats lethargy by providing an outlet for energy through mental engagement. Example activities: agility, bubbles, and fetch.

  • Enhances a dog's environment by altering complexity and quality of their space, fostering the positive expression of natural behaviors by granting them control over their surroundings. This includes activities like using elevated, chew-resistant Kuranda dog beds and incorporating diverse shapes and textures on surfaces both inside and in our Sensory Yard. We regularly introduce different toys, such as safe options for pools and water games, to ensure continuous enrichment.

  • Stimulates the sight, sound, and smell senses of dogs, creating a calming environment and discouraging negative behaviors like destruction or excessive barking. Example activities: diffusing dog-safe lavender oil throughout the facility, relaxing music and nature sounds, dog safe foods to sniff out, dog-safe plants.

  • Encourages positive interactions between dogs and other species, fostering positive connections with humans, other animals, and new situations. Example activities: Positive reinforcement during polite play, small & supervised play groups with perfectly paired temperaments.
